The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) wants small business to get the most out of the festive season retail period.

CCIQ has teamed up with retail consultants Spruiker Hire to help bricks-and-mortar retailers maximise sales generated from their Christmas-New Year marketing campaigns.

CCIQ will host an exclusive webinar on November 24 with Spruiker Hire’s Desley Cowley, with practical tips to help small business increase customer numbers, sales per customer, and customer spend.

Ms Cowley will also present a case study to give businesses real life examples, ideas and actions. All participants will receive a link to a free action planning template/checklist designed to help plan the perfect marketing campaign.

CCIQ Regional Manager for North Queensland Amy Turnbull said the webinar was suited to retail owners, shopping centre managers, retail workers, developers and managers.

“Following on from our recent Pulse survey and the potential retail surge ahead, it’s important that retailers are accessing all the tools they can to leverage off increased consumer spend,” she said.

The latest Westpac Group-CCIQ Pulse Survey of Business Conditions and recent consultations conducted by CCIQ found that Queensland small businesses were increasingly optimistic about their future economic prospects leading into the December Quarter, indicating hopefully a positive turning point for employment in the state.

Ms Turnbull said Spruiker Hire and Ms Cowley bring a wealth of retail knowledge to the table.

“Ms Cowley’s consultancy is not only a hub for retail activation talent, but a provider of retail training workshops,” she said.

“A customer experience specialist, she has spent 25 years in shopping centre management, and has a wealth of experience in deploying tactics to build strong and profitable retail communities.

“She works with owners and developers to turn under-performing retail assets into vital and profitable community hubs and helps shopping centres and retailers source and train quality talent that makes retailing more profitable and fun.

“This webinar is essential to small business – whether you've planned additional marketing to capture more sales this Christmas or not, it’s important to consider how you can maximise the Christmas retail period.”
